Abstrakt: | In the article, the author examines the career history of Benedictine priest Charles Henry Davis, particularly his appointment as coadjutor of Catholic Archbishop John Bede Polding in Sydney, Australia. Also cited are the aim of guaranteeing Benedictine leadership in the archdiocese of Sydney by appointing a coadjutor, and the other candidates other than Davis like English Benedictines William Ullathorne and Francis Appleton. |
