Abstrakt: |
The main thrust of teacher professional development, which is based on the philosophy of professional renewal and lifelong learning. The concept of lifelong learning (LLL) has triggered major changes in the approach to education and training policy in all developed countries. The study focuses on the system of continuing professional development of teachers in Slovakia and Hungary, analysing its similarities and differences in the existing legislation. Its aim is to critically compare the current system of teachers continuing professional development in Slovakia and Hungary on the basis of qualitative content analysis and using the analytical strategy of constant comparison. The research shows that there are similarities and differences in the teachers continuing professional development systems in Hungary and Slovakia, which have an impact on the formation of teachers' professional competences and that the data obtained can serve as an inspiration for the further development of the teachers continuing professional development systems in each country.
