Abstrakt: In this research, a conductive textile is developed by the sol-gel and knife coating processes. For this aim, two types of ionic liquids based on methylimidazolium and pyridinium cations combined with Cl- anion at different concentrations (5, 10, 15, and 20%w/v) are used. The surface properties of fabric treated by the ionic liquid, such as morphology and conductivity, were analysed using a scanning electron microscope, electrical measurement, and impedance test. Also, a comparative study between the two commonly processes is reported. The result showed that the surface resistivity of the fabric was improved from 0 kΩ/cm to 410 kΩ/cm due to the presence of the ionic liquid. The best results were showed for fabric treaded by 30% of ionic liquid using the sol-gel processes. The impedance test was also carried out, the lowest value obtained is about 320 Ω for fabric treated with PCPTS. These values which are enough to switch on a LED connected with textile.
