The quality and service life of high-voltage equipment can be assessed based on the condition of its insulating system. In this study, a technique has been developed and tested that enables the assessment of the quality of an insulating system based on the spectrum of polarization vectors and the total polarization index (TPI). The TPI dependence on the geometrical and physical parameters of the insulating gap has been studied and the universality of the TPI in comparison with other indicators of the quality of insulation has been shown. The theoretical justification and empirical evidence of the independence of TPI from the insulating gap geometry and the applied test voltage are presented. The results of the experimental examination of the TPI dependence on the physical parameters (temperature) are considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
