Forty-four percent of college students experience food insecurity. This systematic review describes the characteristics and outcomes of interventions and strategies that address college students with food insecurity to provide best practices for institutions seeking to implement interventions or strategies that aim to support students with food insecurity.. Three electronic databases were searched for peer-reviewed articles and gray literature concerning food aid interventions and strategies. Of the 271 articles identified, eight articles met eligibility criteria and were included. This review offers insight into interventions and strategies that improve nutrient intake, reduce food waste and food aid stigma, and offer long-term benefits or support. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
