Abstrakt: Melinjau (Gnetum gnemon L.) dry extract and seed flour was evaluated for phytochemical compounds, antioxidant activity, and their characteristics of compounds. The profile of compounds was analyzed using HPLC, while the interpretation of mass spectrum was carried out using GC-MS. Based on the results of phytochemical analysis, melinjau seed extract contains flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, and steroids, while melinjau seed flour contains flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and steroids. Antioxidant compounds such as total phenols 309.36 mg GAE/g sample, total flavonoid 22.55 mg QE/g sample, and antioxidant ABTS value: IC50=97.67 ppm were higher in melinjau seed industrial extracts over seed flour, respectively. The profile of compounds contained in melinjau seed extract and flour have a similar pattern of compounds. Based on GC-MS spectrum analysis with similarity index (%SI) >90% using NIST1 library database showed melinjau seed extract contained n-hexadecanoic acid, linoleic acid conjugated, 7,10,13-hexadecatrienoic acid, and octadecanoic acid, while in melinjau seed flour contained melibiose compounds each compound on 0.1 mg/ml level.
