Through disaster risk reduction (DRR) education, schools play an essential role in preparing students to face disasters. Using a disaster risk reduction pedagogy, such as interactive learning, DRR can be integrated into science learning. This research aims to (1) determine the feasibility of science instructional tools based on interactive learning and (2) assess the effectiveness of the tools in enhancing students' readiness. It was a research and development project. The research process involved preliminary research, planning, product draft development, early field trials, major product revisions, main product trials, and operational product revisions. Two specialists (content and media), two science teachers, and 50 students grade VII from junior high school in Wates participated in this study. Validation sheets were used to acquire product feasibility data, while questionnaires and observation sheets collected data on students' preparedness abilities. The product feasibility data were examined qualitatively and quantitatively descriptively, and the independent t-test was used to check if there was a significant difference between the experiment and control classes to determine its effectiveness. Effect size analysis was also utilized to determine the extent of its usefulness. The findings demonstrate that: (1) interactive learning-based science instructional tools are deemed viable and categorized as "excellent"; and (2) interactive learning-based science instructional tools are beneficial in enhancing students' earthquake readiness.
