Abstrakt: To the Editor: We thank Dr Pei-En Kao and Dr Amy Ker for their interest in our work on the association between dietary inflammatory potential and musculoskeletal health in older adults. SP ( sp [1] SP ) sp In our research, dietary inflammatory potential was indicated by dietary inflammatory index (DII) score. In men, the highest tertile of DII was not significantly associated with the risk of osteoporosis or sarcopenia, but it was associated with a higher risk of competing death before osteoporosis or sarcopenia could be identified at each visit, with the adjusted odds ratio (OR) (95% CI) ranging from 1.66 (1.02-2.71) to 3.05 (1.47-6.33) in the new analysis compared with 1.78 (1.10-2.87) to 2.18 (1.14-4.15) in the original analysis. Musculoskeletal health outcomes included muscle strength and physical performance, osteoporosis, and sarcopenia at the 4-year and 14-year visits. [Extracted from the article]
