A biography of fiction writer Joan Chase is presented. Chase was born on November 26, 1936 in Wooster, Ohio and died on April 17, 2018 in Needham, Massachusetts. She grew up in Alabama, Illinois, and Ohio and attended the University of Maryland. She also lived in Iowa, where she worked at the Ragdale Foundation as assistant director from 1980 to 1984.
