In the article, the author presents their study which analyzed whether the provision of specialist dietetic intervention through individual consultations result in glycaemic optimisation for patients awaiting cardiac surgery and during their post-surgery period. Also cited are how said optimisation could improve cardiac surgery outcomes, and the major areas in diabetes management like patient empowerment, self-management education, and lifestyle modification. |
