Abstrakt: The main objective of this study is to evaluate the influence of prior immersion of samples from aluminum alloy 6061, which have treated with (shot-peening them before and after corrosion) in 3.5% NaCl solution up to 120 days. The effects of shot -peening (SP) on the surface roughness, and the fatigue properties under the rotating bending at R=- 1of the aluminum alloy 6061 have been conducted. SP as a surface treatment leads to plastic deformations in the surface areas, which occur in the development of residual stresses and variations in the surface topography. Treated samples with (SP) before corrosion found the fatigue life decreased significantly at a rate lower than in the case of the (SP) after corrosion of the same Al alloy. The fatigue endurance limit of (SP) specimens after corroded decreased by 10% in comparison with samples treated with (SP) without corrosion while the fatigue endurance limit of shot-peened before corrosion improved by 6% compared to the case of after immersing inadequate solution.
