The article presents a debate on a review of book "Human Development and the Path to Freedom: 1870 to the Present" by Leandro Prados de la Escosura. It mentions how to conceptualize and measure gross domestic product (GDP) with the debate in the 1940s and 1950s and consumption, investment, government spending with national income. It also mentions used factor analysis to trace common patterns and to analyse the evolution of a latent variable. |
