A study on curved circular plates with micropolar fluids.

Abstrakt: In this paper, the squeeze film behaviour of curved circular plates using micropolar fluid as lubricant has been investigated theoretically. The pressure, load and the time of approach derived for the squeeze formed form the generalized Reynolds's equation. The Numerical solution obtained for the performance of circular plates such as pressure, load and approaching time for distinct values of curvatures parameters for lower and upper plates, coupling number and couplestress parameter. The pressure, load and approaching time increase when curvatures parameters for upper plates, coupling number and couplestress parameter lead to increase, but these characteristic of bearing are observed to decrease as curvature parameter for lower plate decrease.
