Structural & model analysis of a centrifugal impeller with PPS material.

Abstrakt: Pumps broadly used in many fields like farming, irrigation, etc.. to discharge water from the resource, which can be a dam or river, all the way through penstocks from end to end. The performance pump of primarily depend on type of impeller used like backward, forward or radial vane, or type of material used for fabrication of the impeller. The current work is intended to structural and modeling investigation of impeller prepared of Polyphenylene Sulphide material and comparing the various performance parameters with impeller made of cast iron material. Centrifugal closed impeller pump is modeled in Solid works, and imported same model in ANSYS and static structural analysis is carried out at different loading conditions and various results like deformation, stress distribution, strain and model analysis are studied and it reveals that the impeller prepared with Polyphenylene Sulphide material gives better results compared to cast Iron.
