Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a promising biopolymer with properties for extensive applications in food, medicine, and electronics. BC has superior properties and characteristics than plant cellulose that fulfil the needs of cellulose inadequate. In this study, the bacterial cellulose was isolated from rotten apples, and the rotten fruits and vegetables are a functional source for synthesizing cellulose producing bacteria. The isolated bacteria further identified and used for the synthesis of bacterial cellulose. Two different carbon sources were taken to analyse the growth kinetics. This study will exploit the culture conditions and optimization, which resulted in two different yields of isolated bacterial culture. The growth kinetics were analyzed, suggesting a good carbon source for bacterial cellulose production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
