Due to the paucity of controlled trials and the fact that some cases resolve spontaneously, treatment efficacy for GP has not been thoroughly assessed.10 Currently, there is no gold standard for treatment. Prior to presentation, the following treatments, of unknown durations, had been tried and were unsuccessful: zinc oxide, petrolatum, ketoconazole, hydrocortisone cream, triamcinolone 0.025% cream, mupirocin cream, and oral gentamicin.
