In recent years, due to the high correlation between breast cancer and breast density, the quantitative and qualitative analysis of breast density has attracted wide attention from researchers. To provide approaches for researchers who are eager for breast density measurement through computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) manner, we survey related works in the past 2 decades. In this work, we review the methods of breast density analysis in terms of qualitative and quantitative measurements based on image analysis, respectively. Various applications of these methods were mentioned, and underlying difficulties, limitations, merits, and disadvantages were discussed in applying these methods. The researchers will find it helpful to choose and use the appropriate model for a better application. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
