Abstrakt: I am preparing new critical editions of several of the works of Gerald of Wales ( I c i . 1146-1223), an archdeacon and prolific Latin author, and one of our chief sources of information on medieval Wales and Ireland, on the twelfth-century English church, and on their relations with Rome. Like most ancient and medieval authors, his works survive in scattered and sometimes fragmentary manuscript copies, in some cases several stages removed from Gerald's original text. Besides being the only copy of Gerald's "Invectives", therefore, this manuscript is also an important piece of evidence for understanding his writing practices. [Extracted from the article]
