Abstrakt: The article examines the inmate due process since the cases Sandin v. Conner, wherein the U.S. Supreme Court tossed the state-created liberty interest, and Wilkinson v. Austin, wherein the Supreme Court set conditions that imposed atypical and significant hardship in prison life. Topics include prisoners' rights, meaningful periodic review requirements to meet due process expectations, and mental health risks and effects of disciplinary segregation or solitary confinement on prisoners.
