Abstrakt:	Provides information about the research results of fastness of protective and decorative coatings of external walls of buildings. It has been established that the cause of the destruction of the finishing layer can be the pressure of ice in the pore of the "coating-substrate" contact, which is not filled with the paint composition during the painting process. The critical value of water absorption of painted samples is calculated, an increase in which will contribute to the destruction of the finishing layer from the pressure of water freezing in the pores of the contact zone.
