Analysis of mechanical properties of Al2O3-SiO2 composite using mechanical (Ball) milling and sintering method.

Abstrakt: This study presents an analysis of the mechanical properties of AlO3−SiO2 composite material resulting from the sintering process at a temperature of 1100°C with various milling times, respectively 20 minutes, 40 minutes, and 60 minutes. Mechanical properties data analyzed were changes in hardness to phase changes. The results of the hardness test showed that the increase in the hardness value of the material along with the addition of the milling process time were 70 HB, 76 HB, and 156 HB, respectively. The results of the phase change analysis using the Maud software shows that there is a phase change that results in a change in the hardness of the material. The results of this test are expected to be used as a reference for the development and utilization of this material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
