HAS THE AGE OF BREAST CANCER PATIENT DETECTION CHANGED IN THE LAST 3 YEARS IN THE BREAST CLINIC OF AL-YARMOOK TEACHING HOSPITAL?

Abstrakt: Breast cancer is the deadliest cancer in women worldwide, the second leading cause of death from cancer in women in developed countries, and the leading cause of death from cancer in low- and middle-income countries. To see the age of breast cancer patient detection change in last 3 years in breast clinic of Al-Yarmook teaching hospital. Across sectional study was conducted on patients with diagnosed breast cancer attending breast clinic of Al-Yarmook teaching hospital from first January 2018 till thirty one 2020. The study included the patients with diagnosed breast cancer exclusively and conducted on females only. The analysis of the current study revealed that there were differences in the proportions of patients in each age groups of the year 2018 and 2019 but these differences were statistically not significant (p= 0.105 and 0.378, respectively). In 2020, there was significant statistical difference in the proportions of the included age groups. In conclusion, breast cancer is a serious disease to women and requires early detection for early diagnosis and treatment. All efforts should be done so as to decrease the burden of the disease on Iraqi women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
