Mechanical Properties and Fracture of Austenitic Steel Fabricated by Selective Laser Melting.

Abstrakt: The structure, mechanical properties, and fracture of samples made of austenitic 12Kh18N10T steel manufactured by selective laser melting (SLM) at various technological parameters and process strategies are studied. The zone strategy of SLM (synthesis using individual quadratic zones) is found to provide slightly lower structure imperfection and the best set of mechanical properties. In this case, SLM enables one to produce parts with the strength higher by a factor of three than that of cast or forged semifinished products made of the same steel with a comparable ductility.
