Abstrakt: Helicobacter pylori and Giardia lamblia are two intestinal microorganisms that have a similar method of infection. Stool and blood samples were collected from 100 apparently healthy undergraduate students from Al-Farabi University College, Baghdad, Iraq.H. pylori prevalence was identified in serum by antibody test cassette and ELISA; microscopic examination was used to recognized parasitic infections in feces and determined by ELISA. The results showed that prevalence rates of G. lamblia and H. pylori were 38% and 51%, respectively. There are Certain factors affect the rate of infection such as gender, type of drinking water and residence area. The positive ratio of Giardia spp. and H. pylori was significantly high among student consuming tap water 53.3% (P-value=0.001) and 66.6% (P-value=0.0001) respectively. The highest rate of infection with Giardia lamblia among students of rural areas, was (60.8%), whereas the rate of infection in urban area students was (31.1%). On the contrary, the highest rate of infection with Helicobacter pylori was among urban students (46.7), while the rate of infection was among rural students (39.2%)Data analysis showed significance association between H. pylori and Giardia lamblia (P=0.03).
