Impact analysis on a structure is necessary to establish it used in mechanical, military and aerospace. The impact can apply in two main situations, direct and oblique. The purpose of this research is to study the response of the plate from fully seashell and seashell/CF under impact of hemispherical shape projectile using finite element simulation software. This simulation will start with using mesh sensitivity technique and later determine its ballistic limit using optimum mesh prediction from the technique. This study will also observe damage behaviour and characteristic of the impact. Based on the result obtained, residual velocity for the target plate of seashell/CF has a higher residual velocity than a fully seashell plate. Furthermore, the ballistic limit for a fully seashell target plate has a higher velocity compared to the seashell/CF target plate. From the result, the mode of failure for both material plates was observed. It was found that the target plate for seashell/CF generates the largest amount of plastic deformation and kinetic energy dissipation. The different endpoints for both the boundary condition were observed. The endpoint in two fixed edges/ two free edges of boundary condition on the plate had a slight deformation and it has fractures at edges compare to the fully fixed edges that had no deformation after the hemispherical face bullet penetrates the target plate.
