Abstrakt: Modern synthetic organic chemistry faces the big challenges of performing chemical reactions through green pathways, with low costs and short reaction times. The slight loss of activity after several runs may be due to blockage of active sites of the catalyst or partial leaching of antimony from the catalyst. In a reaction without catalyst, no product was formed, even after a long reaction time (Table 1, entry 1), indicating the necessary presence of the catalyst. This study presents a convenient and efficient protocol for the synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[ I a i ]xanthen-11-ones using FNC-Sb(V) as a magnetically recyclable and bio-based catalyst.
