Review on conservation of energy in thermal power plant by using variable frequency drive.

Abstrakt: Increasing demand for electricity, in developing countries leads them to develop new technologies to generate power. At the same global warming and emission of CO2 and wastage of energy which is due to nearly 5-8% of the total electricity generation is due to various auxiliary process carries out at thermal power plant, the processes are moving and conveying fluid ,moving the fuel gases from furnaces, cooling ,condensing process etc. All these process are carried out by Induced Draft Fan, Compressors, Cooling Tower Fan, etc. This research work explains the implementation of variable frequency drives for the Induced draft fan and Cooling Tower Fan in the Thermal power plant is analyzed and calculations of energy conservation was carried using variable frequency drive.
