Congenital omphalo hepatico sigmoid colon fistula is yet not described in the literature. There are few case reports of hepatico colic fistula in adults but none is in the paediatric age group. Most of the adult hepatico colic fistulas are due to hepatic abscess, cyst, or foreign bodies. The primary hepatico colic fistula with umbilical connection is not described yet. We report a case of a 2-year-old male child who had an omphalo hepatico sigmoid fistula. The patient was managed with surgery and the fistula was divided, following which he had a biliary leak which was managed with ERC. The child developed extrahepatic portal vein occlusion and atrophy hypertrophy in the liver due to repeated cholangitis episodes. Currently, the patient is doing well at 4 years follow-up. Congenital omphalo hepatico sigmoid colon fistula is one of the rarest anomalies. Early recognition and treatment are essential to prevent complications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
