Abstrakt: The article discusses the occurrence and distribution of zoonotic infections in North Queensland rodents. A study of potentially zoonotic infections was carried out in 351 rodents trapped in north-eastern Queensland. Their ecosystem included towns, agricultural and livestock areas, woodland and rainforest. A number of previous studies have established the existence of several infectious agents of potential zoonotic importance amongst rodents in North Queensland. The role of salmonellae has been investigated.
