The main objective of the proposed work is to sort three different metals from the moving conveyor based on their mass, colour, and shape. Three chosen metals are aluminium, brass, and mild steel. Selected conditions are square and circular. The physical dimension of each specimen is identical and of two shapes, square and circular. These metals are identified based on their weight with a force-sensitive resistance sensor. Further, the specimens are classified based on their colour and shape. TCS230 colour sensor is used to identify the colour of the metals with its RGB range. A USB webcam is used to capture the image to determine the specimen's shape, and the captured image is processed with the MATLAB tool. The RGB image is charged with a camera, and the same is converted into a binary image. The edge detection technique is carried out to identify the specimen's shape and displayed in the MATLAB window. In addition to the Tcs colour sensor, Image processing techniques are employed to determine the colour with the threshold RGB pixel range. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
