Optical bonding has continued to develop rapidly and becomes increasingly common in the display assembly. The optical bonding process consists of surface preparation, dispensing, joining, curing, and de-bubbling. Each process is affected by numerous process parameters that are required to be controlled to achieve high quality of display. The paper aims to present the requirement of robust optical bonding and the process parameters to achieve the quality requirements. The requirements include good adhesion of the bonded part, the optical appearance of the bonded part with free of defects such as bondline, Mura effect, and void. The discussion can be used as a guideline in optical bonding process development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
