Abstract—This article presents the results of mastering the capabilities of the equipment of a new continuous pickling line at PAO Severstal. This unit allows manufacturing high-quality hot-rolled etched skin-passed broad strips for replacing cold-rolled flat products. It is shown that the processing procedures applied during the skin rolling of a hot-rolled etched strip of grade 08ps steel improve its quality specifications affecting the ductility, dimensions, finishing group, and roughness of the steel surface. The feasibility of the transformation of the mechanical properties and finishing quality of the surface of cold-rolled sheet products to hot-rolled etched skin passed strips, designed for the cold forming of vehicles and machinery components, is confirmed by commercial testing.
