Abstrakt: The article focuses on athletics as a medium for international goodwill. If one look over the history of sport in the world, he will find that a great deal of it began with the twentieth century. One will also find that many of the games and events started in the United States. But the spirit of sportsmanship is universal in every country in the world. Schools throughout the world are the first arenas for the budding sportsman. Sports have made a great impact on the school system of the United States. Since the beginning of the Modern Olympic Games in 1896 to the present time there has been greater interest in the world of sport. Now there are the Far East Games, the European Games and the Pan American Games. All of these are regional tournaments preparatory to the Olympic Games which take place once every four years in a different part of the world.
