The article reports that Ngāruawāhia waka ama club teaches tikanga along with the sport's skills with members of the Turangawaewae Waka Sports club take a moment for karakia before training. Topics include participate and compete in waka ama, outrigger canoes modelled on vessels common throughout Polynesia; and dimension of the sport is the history that can learn in different parts of the country when competing on different waterways. |
