Abstrakt: Therapeutic inertia (TI) has been defined as the I failure i of healthcare provider to initiate or intensify therapy when recommendations exist whereas the physician is aware of them and has the means to apply them.1 Studies of TI are limited in dermatology and have been studied in psoriasis first.2-4 TI has not been assessed in atopic dermatitis (AD). Overall, 25.6% of dermatologists demonstrated TI with their patients with moderate-to-severe AD while 43% were favourable to optimize existing treatment and 47% to start quickly a newer more effective treatment. Introducing new systemic therapies into AD's therapeutic arsenal has given physicians and patients a wider choice of options to tailor treatment to individual needs. [Extracted from the article]
