She underwent suction dilation and curettage (D&C) and insertion of Mirena intrauterine device (IUD) in the operating room. Rigid suction curette was used to evacuate products of conception (POC) and IUD was placed with strings trimmed to 3 cm. Transabdominal ultrasound guidance was used throughout the D&C procedure to assure intracavitary presence of IUD. [Extracted from the article] |
