Abstrakt: To investigate the influence of a Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) intervention or mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program during pregnancy on maternal gut microbiota. Both interventions significantly impacted the alpha-diversity of the gut microbiota, with an increased richness compared to the non-intervention group (Chao1 index p = 0.048 for MedDiet, p = 0.038 for MBSR). Conclusions Structured life-style interventions during pregnancy based on MedDiet or MBSR program resulted in significant changes, normally regarded as beneficial, on the maternal gut microbiota profile.
