A metal-organic framework based on γ-cyclodextrin and K+ cations synthesized by antisolvent vapor diffusion method is proposed as a delivery system for niflumic acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent with limited aqueous solubility. Methods of loading niflumic acid into the framework are discussed. The resulting composites are characterized via XRD, low-temperature nitrogen sorption/desorption, and IR spectroscopy. Encapsulation in a metal–organic framework has effect on the kinetics of niflumic acid release and its membrane permeability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
