Abstrakt: The strive for the highest possible prevention rate leads experts to search for "silver bullets", usually in the form of technology, even though Lehr warns us that terrorists themselves benefit from technological development as much as we do, resulting in an arms race. Nevertheless, as the terrorist attacks in Nice (October 2020) and Vienna (November 2020) show, even the pandemic does not stop terrorism, and the scenarios sketched by Lehr still apply: it simply might be one more factor to take into account when engaging with critical infrastructure protection in the future. Simply seeing technology as a silver bullet that will help us to combat terrorism is a rather problematic idea for Lehr. [Extracted from the article]
