| Abstrakt: | If there is severe heat, lack of moisture or disease stress duringgrain fill, plants may cannibalize stalks and leaves to fulfillgrowing needs of their progeny. Tip kernels are the last ones fertilized and first ones aborted ifthere is stress during pollination and early grain fill.
