Passivation is carried out on the basis of low chromium or no chromium. This paper has prepared a nontoxic passivation agent suitable for building door and window hardware. Its formula is sodium molybdate, cobalt nitrate, phytic acid, sodium citrate, phosphoric acid sodium. The content of each component was determined by the single variable factor experiment method, the corrosion resistance was measured by electrochemical workstation, the surface morphology and coating thickness of the passive film were observed and analyzed by JSM-6380LA scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the German Brook D8 Advance diffractometer was used. The composition of the passivation film was analyzed, and the corrosion resistance of the passivation film was tested in a salt spray test box. Finally, the optimal formula of the chromium-free blue and white passivation agent was sodium molybdate 40 g/L, sodium phosphate 20 g/L, sodium citrate. 15 g/L, phytic acid 10 ml/L, cobalt nitrate 1.5 g/L, PH value 1-2, passivation time 8–20 s. The prepared passivation used this nontoxic passivation agent can reaches 72 h in the neutral salt spray test.
