The article focuses on the important role of Digital Twins (DT), in the maritime industry: during design, production and operation of ships. Topics include the mathematical definition of the ship's hull form, its appendages and the propulsion system; devising a DT to analyze and optimize the energy consumption of ships during operation in a large range of different conditions; and the geometry defining the resistance and propulsive characteristics of the ship. |
