The results of a complex computational and experimental study of the mechanical properties of zirconium dioxide-based ceramics by the method of sample edge chipping are presented. Experiments on the chipping of the sample edge were performed using a conical diamond indenter with a radius of the rounding of the spherical tip of 200 μm. The influence of the sintering temperature on the fracture resistance of ceramics has been studied. In this case, an edge chipping resistance curve is used, which gives an integral characteristic of the fracture resistance of ceramic materials. The method proposed can be applied to evaluate and compare the mechanical properties of materials at the stage of exploratory material science research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
