The influence of vibrations of a solid surface on the hydrodynamic regime of the generated flow was considered. Experimental studies showed that when the vibration intensity exceeds a certain level determined by the Reynolds number, a steady flow of liquid is formed near a solid surface. The flow can reduce the local overheating of the heat transfer surface and, thereby, reduce the rate of formation of salt deposits during the heating of hard water. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
