Laboratory tests and numerical experiments based on finite element models are described, the joint use of which makes it possible to evaluate the effect of the dimensions and cross-sectional shape of the reinforcing spiral from a rigid PVC on the flexibility of the hose design and its resistance to inflection. A comparative analysis of the results of a numerical and laboratory experiments allows you to choose the optimal dimensions of the hose construction at the design stage, providing resistance to inflection while maintaining flexibility without conducting numerous laboratory tests.
