Abstrakt: PLA‐based panels are widely used in many applications. Sometimes these panels can be subjected to uneven heating processes of their various areas. As the cooling process also has a nonuniform character, the appearance of residual stresses of thermal nature is expected, which can lead to the appearance of residual plastic deformations of the panel. Finite element modeling and images taken with the help of an infrared camera confirm the process of uneven panel heating under the action of heat generated by an infrared radiation lamp. The models made using the finite element method concluded that deviations are possible in the form of a concavity in that area of the panel surface located closer to the heat source and in the form of convexity on the opposite surface. The experimental results obtained on polylactic acid panels with thicknesses of 2 and 4 mm confirm the generation by uneven cooling of shape deviations with sizes up to 3.39 mm.
