This article extends the Process Scoring System, originally developed for measuring dream dynamics and content, to waking and therapy experiences and applies it in a study of 5 new and 5 experienced subjects in an intensive outpatient psychotherapy. The relation between dreams, therapeutic activities, and regular waking psychological functioning is well established. Researchers H. Fiss and J. Litchman demonstrated that REM mentation, especially when incorporated into waking life, can play an active role in maintaining a state of mental health. |
