The article reports on clinician's concern about the age and the adequacy of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) reforms. To develop new norms for the MMPI, researchers obtained responses from 1,408 normal subjects, who ranged in age from 18 through 99 years. The MMPI had its inception in 1937 through a collaboration between Starke R. Hathaway, a psychologist, and John C. McKinley, a neurologist and psychiatrist. It was developed as an aid in the assessment of the mental health status of patients seen in a medical practice. |
