The article attempts to develop a more discriminating F+ ratio, which might be a more valid measure of ego strength for certain neurotic groups than is true of F+ ratios in current use. According to F+ can also be used to predict the reactions of normal subjects to a highly stressful situation. When the records of a group of normals and a group of neurotics were compared, there was a significant difference between the scores of the two groups on this new ratio. As predicted, the correlations were lower for the neurotic sample than for the normal sample between the new F+ ratio and each of the other two ratios. |
