This article focuses on the understanding and similarity in relation to marital satisfaction. The present investigation attempted to assess the relation of understanding, genuine similarity, and assumed similarity of spouses to marital satisfaction by use of Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). Understanding was defined as the ability to predict accurately the spouse's MMPI, real similarity was defined as the number of items answered identically by each spouse, while assumed similarity was defined by comparing the spouse's own answer with his prediction of his spouse. |
